Reasons Why It's Not a Good Idea To Have Pets Insurance
It costs money that may never need to be spent.
It's a gamble, but you have car insurance and health insurance, so why not pets insurance?
2 It's a lot of bother to do the research.
It's not to hard to research on the internet, create a short-list and ring up the pets insurance to discuss your pets needs.
3 You don't need it while your pet is young. Perhaps when she gets older, I'll get some.
Anything can happen at any age, and if your pet develops a condition before you take out pets insurance then you may struggle to insure that condition.
4 The vet will treat her because I've got no money.
This may be true if you're truly destitute but nobody's going to have any sympathy if you could have afforded the insurance.
5 I'd rather save up for things like veterinary fees and anyhow I've got the money to cover any vet fees.
If you are wealthy enough to cover veterinarian fees then that's good but do you really know how much vets' fees are? You should still at least look into pets insurance.
6 If my pet really needed drastic help then maybe I'd have to consider having her put down.
This would always be a last resort, discuss with your veterinarian.
7 She never goes out of the house or doesn't stray far so she won't pick anything up and she won't have an accident because we don't live close to a road so there's not much chance of needing a vet, they're only in it for profit anyway.
You could be right but are you really going to take that risk?
8 I treat her myself using items from the supermarket or drugstore and I always feed her the best food so she should be ok from that point of view.
Good for you! You should always try to do the best for your pet and you will cut down on the odds of your pet needing help but you still never know when the unthinkable may happen.
9 What are the chances that she will need a vet? You've got to play the odds like the insurance companies do.
Yes they play the odds, but are you prepared to gamble on the health of your pet?
10 I've got lots of pets and I couldn't afford pets insurance for all of them.
Easy come, easy go?
